In this paper, Phan et al. established two classes of lung-mimicking models: healthy and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease model.Our cellQART 0.4 micron pore size translucent inserts were used to successfully develop both models. Respiratory cells were grown for seven days in the liquid phase and three weeks in the ALI phase. Assessment of the integrity of the cellular barrier was made by impedance measurement using a high-throughput automated monitoring system from Locsense.
