Membrane technology for tissue engineering
November 2022 – Karina Cuanalo-Contreras, PhD
If you work with tissue engineering of barrier tissues or multi-compartment in vitro systems, porous semi-permeable membranes are integral components of the cell culture vessels. In this presentation, you will learn how to select the right membrane for your experiments.
Introduction to Cell Culture Inserts – Presentation from the 10th annual meeting of ASCCT
October 2021 – Karina Cuanalo-Contreras, PhD
Cell culture inserts are membrane-based systems widely used to study permeability and toxicity of drugs, chemicals and cosmetics, among other applications. In this presentation, we introduce you the science and technology behind our cellQART® Cell Culture Inserts.
The role of manufacturers towards the 3Rs – Presentation from the WC11 Congress on Alternatives and Animal use in the life sciences
August 2021 – Karina Cuanalo-Contreras, PhD
We participated at WC11. The topic this year was the 3Rs in transition: from development to application.
In this talk we raise awareness of the importance of the inclusion of manufactures in the development of NAMs, both at the scientific and regulatory level.
In vivo to in vitro – Presentation from Advances in Cell and Tissue Culture conference 2021
June 2021 – Karina Cuanalo-Contreras, PhD
Animal models often fail to replicate essential aspects of disease in humans and they bring many experimental and ethical concerns. Consequently, there is an urgent need to develop physiologically relevant animal-free in vitro methods to accelerate the in vivo to in vitro transition.
In this talk from the 2021 Advances in Cell and Tissue Culture international conference - Animal Free Research session, we discuss the current challenges in the field and how to transform them into opportunities towards the 3Rs principle.
